I am proud to be an Indian

We have actually defeated every exit poll - we have defeated all statistics media has been churning out and India is finally going to have a stable government without the support of Left or Mayawati. I sincerely hope UPA takes strong and good decisions now, and NDA acts as the useful strong opposition.

This election has ensured that Indian public does not want power hungry brokers - we want a stable government and a stable opposition.

However much fun I make of Indian politics and politician on my blog - I respect them and trust them more so after this election - as we have put the right people in the parliament - be on the ruling benches or opposition.

Today we talk about another very common disease which is found in politicians - the Respondilitis.

Respondilitis is a disease of the tongue , where the patient finds it tough to control the tongue via the brain. In advanced  cases, the tongue controls the brain - which could be fatal for the political career of the patient. This disease is highly infectious and spreads through responding, and hence it is called the Respondilitis.

The typical symptoms of this disease are -

  • Extremely quick retorts to political opponents

As you might have guessed the typical case of this our wannabe Prime Ministers - L K Advani and Mamohan Singh. Each retort they give to each other, is extremely personal, taunting and out rightly unexpected of the experience they have of Indian democracy. Yet each one of them stands up and responds to the other , almost immediately. And of course, they never forget to add, in Don Corleone style - nothing personal.

  • The urge to speak as soon as the politician sees a TV Camera

The extremely well known case who displays this system is Mr Amar Singh. He would speak about Behen Mayawati as soon as he sees a TV camera. In the recent past he also spoke about the Congress the same way, but since yesterday his stand has softened (which is a symptom of Pollyo, discussed in the next update). He categorically told the TV cameras that Digvijay Singh called him up and apologized for what they had done to him and his mentor in the past.  Another very well known case is Praful patel, and of  course Sri Lalu Yadav.

  • Attend TV discussions on every channel - even India TV

Kapil Sibal and Arun Jaitley are the most obvious patients who show these symptoms. Mr Sibal is in an advanced stage of this disease, because not only does he respond to his opponent in the debates, he smirks, laughs and outright insults them.  You could argue that all that is beacuse the lawyer in his heart - but isn’t that a heart disease as well ? Arun Jaitley on the other hand, has recently learned to restrain himself - I think he is on medication for Respondilitis.

  • Come to someone else’s interview , uninvited

Again, who else than Amar Singh ji. He would join Amitabh Bacchan in his TV interviews. He would also vow to take care of Manyata, if Sanjay goes to jail. He would also even tell the electorate in Rampur  that Jayprada would commit suicide if they did not vote for her. Amar Singh ji is a case of Respondilitis in its last stage - and if medication is not provided to him - his political career might be over very soon.

In case you are wondering why I have taken names of all the politicians so respectfully (Sri, Mr, ji, Behen etc.) is because you never know who will become the Prime Minister tomorrow (literally).
