A rare steak

“The  BJP has suddenly found respect for Baba Sahib Ambedkar. And the author of the book (against Ambedkar) is their in house intellectual. He is brought into the forefront for any issue which requires an IQ of over 60″

                - Chidambram, the Home Minister of the Republic Of India. One day before polling.

As I heard this, I was reminded of the final of the Cricket World Cup, 2003.  India and Australia were both being treated equally in terms of the matches they had won and the ladder they had climb to reach the finals.  But the Aussies were known for their agressive language and body language on the field, and the Indian team looked like a Bengal Tiger - expecting respect, instead of demanding it.

On the D-Day, Indians tried to change their strategy  - they became overly aggressive. It showed in their language, it showed in their actions, but it did not show in their cricket. Not only did they lose the match, they lost it very badly - by over 100 runs.

The same thing is happening with the Congress. Their leaders have suddenly become as rude as the BJP leaders - and trying to outdo them. Sonia Gandhi calling Advani and RSS slave, Manmohan’s comments on Advani and now Chidambram. These leaders of composure and stature have reduced themselves to the level Singhvi, Sibal and Narendra Modi operate and orate.

  • Are these last minute jitters ?
  • Does Congress know something which they are not saying ? Do they see an imminent defeat ?
  • Or is it just that they have succumbed to the stress created by BJP  against them ?
  • Or is the heat of Indian Summers ? The tempers rise with the temperature ?
  • Or has it become perfectly normal for politicians to personally abuse each other ? Has the Pakistan style of politics now infiltrated to India ?

I personally wish we heard more about roads, drinking water, alternative energy sources, health care than about who is a slave and who is the master.

And another wish - I hope these elections get over as fast as possible - so that India TV can go back to showing news about supernatural stuff. That would be far more entertaining.

Ghost of the past
keeps haunting
most of the future

And why the title ? Because  our politicians seem to bite more rare steak than they can chew.  They should now be prepared for jaw dropping results.

Often aptly called the brainstorming sessions, these sessions are typically called by the labor class. They  call such meetings to make sure no one blames them for anything in the future. The effort estimates and risk factors are discussed in hard core technical details so that management finds it really tough to comprehend, yet driving the point home that if anything goes wrong , “I already told you so”.  The middle management is always trapped into these meetings, but labor class often makes a big mistake by inviting the upper management to these meetings.

These are the people who can rip you apart with questions like these -

“So you mean the lateral shift in the paradigm could lead to the reconstitution of the domain ?”

“I believe the futuristic trends you have presented are just an oasis reflection of the technological lapse”

Any answer to the above would make the labor class employee to look like a moron fit enough to be reorganized in the next restructuring. As a rule for the labor class, never invite the upper management to these meetings. And for the upper management, always take out time to barge into any such meeting - it will enhance your position as the Know-It-All-Person who does not have the time to prove it.

In the next post we would learn about “It WOULD not HAVE HAD  been my fault”  meetings
